Are cervical pillow for side sleepers?
I am a side sleeper. I am having lot of pain in the neck and shoulder. Eventhough I try to keep the pillow in to align the spine straight, the normal pillow still keeps compressing. This is very difficult thing to adjust on daily basis. I bought a cervical pillow that was full memory foam. Its useless as it keeps compressing. There are cervical pillows with normal foam for eg. sold by apollo pharmacy. Can anyone tell if this will provide proper support for side sleeping?

Yes, cervical pillows are designed to support the neck and spine, particularly for those who sleep on their sides. These pillows have a unique shape that helps keep the neck and spine in proper alignment while you sleep.
While there are various types of cervical pillows available in the market, it is important to choose the right one based on your specific needs. As you mentioned that you have already tried a full memory foam cervical pillow, you may want to try a pillow with firmer normal foam that will provide more support.
The cervical pillows available at Apollo Pharmacy may be a good option for you. It is recommended to try out the pillow for a few nights to determine if it suits your needs. Additionally, it is important to choose a pillow that fits your body size and sleep habits to get the most benefit.

1. Work on the upper back and neck region (only exercise based guidance) under an experienced Physio. Sleep with any pillow that keeps you comfortable, it matters very little.
2. If you still feel necessary, either buy the cheapest (cotton) or the most expensive (excellent quality foam) pillows.
Mid range available at pharmacies these days has mixed results.

It is always better to maintain postural curvature of spine. Neck pillow helps in that. But you have to check while sleeping it actually maintain or it gives pressure. If it is giving pressure at neck region then it is better to use normal firm pillow.
Use Memory Foam Pillows as they take the shape of your neck while Cervical Pillows may or may not help you as every individual has a different structure of the neck and adapts a different posture as per his or her occupational hazard.

the cervical pillow will give proper support but in your case, some groups of muscles will get tight some group muscles will get weak sometimes if we work for that you can able to sleep in your comfortable position with whatever pillow you have
