Yes there are options available. Various forms of psychotherapy like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy are available through which the treatment of your anxiety can be attempted. However only mild to moderate intensity of anxiety is usually treatable by psychotherapies. For moderate to severe anxiety, medications are the mainstay. Medications usually used to treat anxiety are one of the safest medicines available provided you take treatment with a Psychiatrist. Wrong doses, self medications can lead to side effects. But so is the case with any known medicine, not just psychotropics.
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and management plan formulation. clarify your fear of side effects with the Psychiatrist
Health Tips
do not attempt self medications or Google check your diagnosis and treatment. trust your Psychiatrist
