Anxiety , Panic Disorder
Hi I have been taking Clonazepam and Nexito 10 for 50 days now. My doctor asked me to reduce the dosage of Clonazepam and my panic attacks are back. Hence she asked me to replace Nexito 10 with Nexvenla 50 mg. I want to know if this switch will cause any side effects and if it will help me get rid of the dependency with Clonazepam. Also is the dosage same as nexito 10.

Panic attacks are managed by combination of medicine and psychotherapy. Clonazepam is usually used for few weeks to control panic attacks and gradually taper off. All antidepressant have similar efficacy in controlling panic attacks. Once the symptoms are stabilised with medicines,  a psychotherapy need to be initiated as panic attacks responds very well.

Hello, It is better to gradually decrease nexito and increase nexvenla.... abruptly stopping one and starting the other one doesn't seem to be a good choice..... colnazepam you should decrease slowly afterwards.

Thank you for the question. Seems you have developed some dependence for benzodiazepines i.e clonazepam. Nexvenla is another drug replacement for Escitalopram (Nexito) and may have slight role in reducing the dependence of clonazepam. I would suggest you to consider Chlordiazepoxide 10 mg in tapering dose along the Nexito only.
