Panic attacks and anxiety
Hello Sir/Ma'am, I was on medication for panic attacks 5 months ago from Sept'23 - Nov'23. I also experienced blackout, it was not exactly blackout but i experienced sudden loss of consciousness. My doctor recommend test for seizure but it came out negative. After stopping medicines, I never experienced panic attacks but now I panic on small things. Not severe like attacks. I was never an alcohol addict person. I used to drink occasionally. But now even the thought of alcohol and drinks cause severe anxiety and panic. I panic that I might experience blackout again. I'm not able to enjoy my normal life. I panic to even have one light alcohol drink. I also panic if I see dim lights. I used to drink before and never experienced such thing. But now I'm too scared that even if my friends make plans for drinking at night, I start panicking the day before. How can I stop this?? I really want to become normal again. Please help.

Hi there. What you experienced in September 23 is a panic attack like you said. Most people develop something called as an anticipatory anxiety, which means they tend to be apprehensive and worried that it might occur again. When this becomes severe it leads to phobia to specific situations. All you need is a good therapist to get you out of this misery. It is definitely treatable.

Hi, you are generally over sensitive or emotional which triggered anxiety down the line. All this is a part of anxiety since you are having apprehensions about the future, or of you drink alcohol causing more anxious thoughts for same. You need guidance and a medical intervention in this case. The reason why anxiety happens is due to the imbalance- deficiency pf Serotonin (neurotransmitter) in our brain which causes fight or flight mode on. We are always on guard causing excessive stress and anxiety. And at the same time therapy will also play a great role for the same. You can approach me for even better understanding and the process ahead
