What all medicine are you on ma'am ? Do you stop medicines on your own or are you advised by your doctor? Anxiety medicines should not be suddenly stopped- they should be tapered off very gradually.

Dear mam I am sorry that you are suffering so much. Is there any reason why you stop the medicines? The medication that are used for treating anxiety and depression usually needs to be taken for a long term. If you stop the medications midway, the chances of relapse increases. Just like physical health conditions like diabetes or thyroid abnormality where the medicines are essential and taken for long term, it is necessary to take the medicines as prescribed for maximum benefit. How long the medicines needs to be continued depends on a lot of factors like the duration of illness, severity of symptoms, response to medication, any concomitant stress. Please do not hesitate to take medications. Talk to your psychiatrist about your concerns regarding the medication. In addition to medication, you will benefit from psychological therapy and relaxation techniques like meditation and calm breathing. Thanks Regards Dr Ankita Mishra MRCPsych MD DPM
