Anxiety and Depression
Good morning sir, my father is suffering from anxiety and Depression for last one month...He was working in Bank and there due to some work load disturbances after demonetisation..but he just got retired last week...Earlier on counselling with psychiatrist, he was prescribed some medicines due to which he was sleeping through out the day and then we went to other psychiatrist, he prescribed escitalopram 5mg in morning and evening. And fluoxetine 20 mg in night but his anxiety still continues for last 3 days since this medicine prescribed...His anxiety is very severe in morning but reduces in afternoon and more less in evening... We still don't know the reason behind it n not sure whether this time medicines will work or not? Please help and suggest sir?

Psychiatric medication needs weeks to show their effect. Some patients can have side effects which can be managed by discussion about the same with the treating doctor. If the anxiety continues to be severe, then medication can be adjusted.
