Anxiety and blood pressure problems.
I have high bp initially taking cilindipine 10mg ,my BP not control with it and I have nervousness problem and fear some thing happened to me like that. I consult neurologist he did all tests and all are fine . He suggested metoprolol succinate 25mg morning for BP and escitalopram 10mg and clonazepam 0.5mg night. After taking it I am totally fine. I am taking it around 5 months. Recently I consulted one govt general physician generally I told him what medication I am taking. He said stop them slowly because anxiety pills impact sexual life , I am married one and no children. He suggested take escitalopram only slowly stop clonazepam. Now I am taking half tablet of escitalopram 10 and clonazepam 0.5mg from one week onwards. Now I am feeling good only but when I take full I am more comfortable. Now what can I do . Does escitalopram and clonazepam really impact sexual life.

It doesn't impact every one's sexual life adversely. In a significant proportion of people it helps in bettering sexual life especially those suffering from premature ejaculation. Taking clonazepam for a prolonged period of time is not advisable as there is risk of dependence. It is advisable to taper and stop clonazepam but to continue escitalopram at 10mg per day, preferably under a psychiatrist's guidance.

If you have responded to escitalopram and clonazepam combination, then continue the same as per your psychiatrist s advise for few months at least. Good luck

If you have responded to escitalopram and clonazepam, the tapering of doses should be even more gradual if on doing so you felt slight discomfort. Continuing same doses escitalopram 10 mg and clonazepam 0.5mg till 6-9 months is suggestible followed by slow tapering over a span on next 3-6 months.
Escitalopram may have sexual side effects. Clonazepam has none.
Next Steps
