You’ve done very well by completing both vaccine courses. However, if you had already completed a full 5-dose rabies vaccination series within the past 6 months, the second full 5-dose course was not necessary — only 2 booster doses (on day 0 and day 3) would have sufficed.
There’s no major harm or serious side effect expected even after receiving extra doses, but some people may experience mild fever, fatigue, body aches, or local pain and redness at the injection site. These are self-limiting and resolve within a few days.
Next time, if any dog bite occurs within 3–6 months of full vaccination, please consult a specialist before repeating the entire course — it can save you unnecessary doses and discomfort.
If you’d like me to review your exact vaccine schedule and guide you on future bite management and antibody protection, you can book a private consultation with me here — I’ll explain everything clearly and make sure you’re fully protected.

Hello, protocol for a previously vaccinated person who is re-exposed to rabies is different from that for an unvaccinated person. A person who has completed a full rabies vaccination course typically does not need the full series of shots again.
If you want detailed discussion on it, you can directly contact me on practo.
Hi. I understand your concern. As far as known there are cases of side effects of anti rabies vaccine reported, rather than administration related side effects. Watch for any symptoms. If feeling any difficulty, it's better to evaluate at the hospital.
Any person taking Anti-rabies vaccine can suffer the side effects of Anti-rabies vaccine, irrespective of the number of doses he has taken earlier. But there are no special side effects if you have taken Anti-rabies vaccine earlier.

Since you completed a full 5-dose anti-rabies vaccination series in June this year, you were already well-protected. In case of a new dog bite within 6–12 months, only 2 booster doses (on Day 0 and Day 3) are recommended — not the full 5-dose schedule again.
However, even if you’ve taken all 5 doses once more, there’s no cause for concern. Rabies vaccines are inactivated (killed) vaccines and are generally very safe. The most you might experience are mild local reactions such as pain, redness, or mild fever, which settle on their own.
No serious long-term side effects are expected.
For future exposures within a year, remember that only 2 booster doses are needed.
