Ankle sprain
..my ankle is sprained today evening.there is no any swelling. But it is paining a lot cant make any movement. How to reduce pain. Do i need to consult doctor .

Keep elevated and on ice. If the pain persists then you may need X-ray and clinical examination.

Apply a crepe bandage 6’ with some diclofenac gel. Ice compression and elevation. Dont bear weight. If pain hasnt reduced for a day or two, go ahead with an xray.

Get an x-ray done. If no fracture then ice and medications.

No harm in getting an xray done if you are not able to put weight on that limb.

Hello Ankle sprain can lead to ligament Injury or a Fracture. Xray must be done to rule out a Fracture.

Xray Ankle AP LATERAL Xray Foot AP OBLIQUE Tablet Enzoflam twice a day after food. Use ankle binder/brace Put ice 2-3 times in a day for 10 minutes each Put Volini Spray for pain relief FOLLOW UP with Me when Xray is done.

Don't put weight on the leg. Keep a pillow under the leg.

Follow the principle of RICE Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation .. if pain persists or swelling increases.. consult an orthopaedic.
