Ankle Fracture
Yesterday I tripped and got my ankle fractured. Xray report says " Transverse non displaced fracture of right lateral malleolus" How severe it is? One doctor is suggesting Surgery ORIF. Can expert doctors advise me  if this can be fixed with a normal plaster?? Reports attached.

Transverse fracture on lateral malleolus. Due to its tendinous attachments, it will tend to displace, leading to ankle instability.
Next Steps
Considering the young age and in order to mobilize the patient at the earliest - best option would be surgical intervention. Open reduction and internal fixation with distal fibula locking compression plate.
