Your father’s symptoms, including right upper abdomen pain, vomiting, chills, fever, and his history of uncontrolled diabetes, could point to several possible conditions: 1. Acute Cholecystitis (Gallbladder inflammation): Pain in the right upper abdomen can suggest a problem with the gallbladder, such as inflammation or gallstones. Fever and chills are common symptoms. 2. Hepatitis or Liver Issues: Inflammation or infection of the liver can cause right upper abdominal pain, fever, and nausea. 3. Pancreatitis: Acute pancreatitis, which is common in diabetics, can cause abdominal pain and vomiting. It may also lead to fever and general malaise. 4. Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA): This is a complication of uncontrolled diabetes, which can lead to nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, and confusion. 5. Infection or Sepsis: Given the fever and chills, there is a possibility of an infection that could be complicating the diabetes. Since he is receiving antibiotics (Xone) and medications for nausea (Lecope), it seems the doctor is addressing infection or inflammation. However, if symptoms worsen, or if he becomes more confused or lethargic, immediate medical attention may be required. Make sure his blood sugar levels are closely monitored as well.

I will advise that your father should be admitted to a hospital.  He will need many investigations and frequent intravenous antibiotics and other supportive treatment. He is a case of uncontrolled Diabetes. It will be very difficult to monitor his blood sugar at home.

You should visit the treating physician and discuss these things. Causes can be varied and without a patient by the side, it's difficult for a doctor to comment on the diagnosis.

Based on the symptoms you've described, including yellow vomiting, upper right abdominal pain, fever, chills, and a high WBC count, there could be a serious liver-related issue such as hepatitis or a liver abscess. The yellow vomiting suggests a possible bile obstruction or liver dysfunction. Uncontrolled diabetes may also complicate the situation, making it crucial to seek further medical evaluation. The vertigo and headaches could be related to the infection or an underlying metabolic imbalance caused by liver issues or dehydration. It's important to perform a thorough physical examination along with liver function tests, abdominal ultrasound, and possibly a CT scan to rule out any serious conditions like a liver abscess or other infections affecting the liver and gastrointestinal system. For better evaluation and treatment, I suggest consulting me for further guidance.
