Dizziness could be due to sudden stoppage of escitalopram (withdrawal effect) or dehydration, constipation, or digestive issues. Restarting or tapering under doctor’s supervision is safer. Eat small, balanced meals, stay hydrated, manage constipation with fibre and fluids. Visit a physician or psychiatrist to review medicines and rule out ear or blood pressure–related causes. Avoid driving till symptoms settle. Fell free to connect if symptoms persists.

Your current symptoms are most likely due to SSRI discontinuation effects — escitalopram withdrawal can cause dizziness, imbalance, and vertigo sensations for several weeks, especially if stopped suddenly. Additionally, your long-standing digestive issues and fatty liver may be aggravating these symptoms by affecting nutrient absorption and gut–brain interaction. The dizziness after eating or passing stools suggests autonomic imbalance and post-prandial hypotension, which needs careful evaluation. You will benefit from a guided tapering approach, liver detox regimen, and targeted therapy for constipation and gut motility. Please book a detailed one-to-one consultation at eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two  so I can review your reports, diet, and medication history, and plan a personalized recovery protocol to stabilize your system safely.

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. I understand your concern — experiencing dizziness and vertigo after stopping escitalopram, along with long-standing digestive issues and constipation, can be distressing and may be due to a combination of factors including medication withdrawal, gut health, and nutritional deficiencies ✅ Advices • Stay hydrated and maintain a balanced diet rich in fiber, fruits, vegetables, and fluids to help with constipation and overall gut health • Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions to reduce dizziness and vertigo episodes • Include probiotics and consider gentle digestive aids like warm water and mild fiber supplements under supervision What to Monitor • Watch for severe dizziness that leads to falls, fainting, or inability to perform daily activities • Mild warning signs include worsening vertigo, persistent nausea, worsening fatigue after bowel movements, or worsening abdominal pain Managment Given your history of stopping escitalopram, ongoing digestive issues, and grade 2 fatty liver, it is important to review your medications, diet, and liver function. You may need blood tests to check for anemia, vitamin deficiencies, and liver function, and a consultation to address constipation and vertigo in a structured way When to Consult a Doctor Immediately • Severe or sudden vertigo, fainting, or inability to stand • Blood in stools, severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting • Confusion, rapid heartbeat, or new neurological symptoms Every patient’s situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, it’s important to discuss your medical history and symptoms in detail You can reach out to me directly for this case, and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one-on-one consultation, where you’ll receive A personalized treatment plan Safe medicine adjustments if required Quick follow-ups to track your recovery Take care, wishing you good health Best regards Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
