Hi there, Thank you for reaching out. It seems like she's experiencing a feeling of failure as she is not able to do clear her CA and as a result she feeling depressed and anxious. Her sleeping a lot is understandable as she is using it as a coping strategy to deal with her depression and anxiety. If she is willing, she should consult a therapist to learn to manage her symptoms and learn healthy coping strategies. Psychiatric medications especially antidepressants should only be taken under medical supervision and should not be discontinued without consulting Psychiatrist. I understand she doesn't want to take medications as you mentioned she doesn't retain anything and sleeps a lot. She can speak to a Psychologist & Psychiatrist about the same.
Next Steps
1. Consult Psychiatrist / Psychologist to assess the level of depression. If high, medications are needed.
2. Pschotherapy and medications done together will help her reduce symptoms.
