Palpitations can be due to anxiety, stress, caffeine, dehydration,
thyroid issues, anemia, electrolyte imbalance, or sometimes medication side effects. Escitalopram is generally safe, it can sometimes cause palpitations, especially if it affects the heart rhythm.
Holter monitor (24–48 hrs) or event monitor to catch abnormal rhythms when they happen.
Blood work up: thyroid function,
electrolytes, hemoglobin. Review caffeine, alcohol, stimulant, or nicotine use. Assess stress/anxiety, since they can mimic or worsen palpitations
