This is for informational purposes only. For medical advice or diagnosis, consult a professional. Here are some home remedies that may help relieve the symptoms of a common cold: Rest: Get plenty of sleep to allow your body to recover. Hydration: Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, clear broths, or herbal teas, to prevent dehydration. Warm liquids: Sip on warm liquids like chicken soup, tea with honey, or warm water with lemon to soothe a sore throat and loosen congestion. Humidifier: Use a cool-mist humidifier to add moisture to the air, which can help ease congestion. Saltwater gargle: Gargle with warm saltwater to relieve a sore throat. Over-the-counter medications: Consider using over-the-counter medications such as decongestants, but follow the instructions carefully. Important: Consult If your symptoms are severe or persist for more than a week.

Better to consult a General Physician for a physical examination. You can never exclude infection purely based on symptoms and the examination will decide whether you need antibiotics or not.
