Hello, I have high hemoglobin of around 18 , is there any way to reduce it. I am also a smoker . Does smoking increases hemoglobin levels and are there any medications to reduce it

If you do not have any symptoms and any other major chronic illness there isn't much you need to do. The cause of high Hb can be evaluated for further reassurance. Smoking needs to go out of picture for obvious reasons.
You should donate blood if possible. Avoid smoking on the day of donation. If blood donation is not possible, go to a hospital for phlebotomy.
If symptoms are present or if any chronic disease is present, an Hb of 18 requires further evaluation and treatment.
