I have heard that it is good to have one teaspoon of ghee first thing in the morning alongwith few sips of warm water. Is it okay to consume ghee on empty stomach with warm water? If no, how and when should one consume ghee in a day to achieve maximum benefits from it?

You can have it empty stomach with warm water . It will help in reducing dryness ,gives good complexion to the skin,regularise motion. But avoid when you are suffering from cold ,throat pain , impaired appetite, indigestion etc. or you can also have ghee with your regular food like with dosa, idli, chapati, rice etc.

Hello, Please DON'T.  Ghee is very good for digestion and does wonders in our body. But there is a specific way and time to consume it. As our digestive capacity is weak at morning and ghee is heavy to digest it will cause so much digestive problems. Try to consume it like pouring in dosa etc.
