A 25(OH) Vitamin D level of 10.4 ng/mL indicates deficiency.
Next Steps
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) 60,000 IU once weekly for 8 weeks is an appropriate regimen, followed by maintenance therapy (60,000 IU once monthly or 1,000–2,000 IU daily).
Health Tips
Ensure adequate dietary calcium and safe sun exposure. Repeat the vitamin D level after completion of therapy or as advised by your physician.

Hello. Your Vitamin D level of 10.4 ng/mL indicates severe Vitamin D deficiency (normal levels are above 30 ng/mL). Taking Cholecalciferol 60,000 IU (60k) is the correct therapeutic choice to replenish your body's stores, but it must be taken for a specific duration to avoid toxicity. Safe Dosing Duration: Loading Phase (Correction): Take 1 capsule/sachet of Vitamin D3 60k once a week for 8 weeks (preferably after a main meal containing fat/dairy for better absorption). Maintenance Phase: After completing the 8-week weekly regimen, STOP the weekly high dose. You should then switch to a lower daily maintenance dose (such as Vitamin D3 1000–2000 IU daily) or 60k once a month, depending on your follow-up blood levels.
Next Steps
1)Complete the 8-Week Course: Take the weekly 60k supplement strictly for 8 weeks. 2)Repeat Blood Test: Get a repeat Vitamin D (25-Hydroxy) and Serum Calcium test done 2 to 3 weeks after completing the 8-week course to assess recovery and adjust your maintenance dose. 3)Evaluate Vitamin B12: As your title mentions B12 as well, ensure you check your Serum B12 levels; if deficient, you may also require Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin) supplementation.
Health Tips
Enhance Absorption: Vitamin D is fat-soluble. Always take your weekly 60k supplement after your largest meal of the day (containing healthy fats like milk, eggs, nuts, or ghee) to optimize absorption. Sunlight Exposure: Spend 15–20 minutes in mid-day sunlight (between 11 AM and 2 PM) with exposed arms and legs 3–4 times a week. Dietary Sources: Include Vitamin D-rich foods in your daily routine, such as fortified milk, egg yolks, fatty fish (salmon/mackerel), and mushrooms.
