Normal. Nothing to worry about. It will be vanished when your baby is of 7 months of age. Do not touch the area unnecessarily. Do not over-diagnose and ask everyone about it. I am telling you it’s normal, means it’s NORMAL! Take a sigh of relief now. Your baby is safe. Anyway, just to be on the safer side: Do not pull the area to check for discharge. Do not try to push it inside by using finger or hand. Do not try to give compression with anything. (Older generation tend to apply cold compression or maida compression which might cause infection.) Do nothing as if it never happened. Treat the belly button as a normal belly button and see the magic on 7th Month

It can happen due to weakness in abdominal muscles which happens basically when baby is in the womb.
