Age 31 FEMALE prediabetic HbA1c - 5.7 ( in lab) Fasting - 94.46 (in lab) After 2 hours of  dinner - 139 (test done at home with glucometer) Iam taking glycomet SR 500mg -twice So need advice on medication whether to continue or reduce or completely avoid

Hi, Hope you are doing well. Ideally you do not need medicines for pre diabetes. You should explore the idea of a calorie restricted diet and regular for control and possible reversal. Great control . You can try and reduce dosage,  take 500mg once daily  reapt sugers after 1 month if you notice any derangement increase your dose or else you can continue on 500mg OD.

You must go for these tests prediabetes not affect liver and kidney only, it affects many things. 1. Complete Blood Count (CBC) 2. Liver Function Tests (LFT) 3. Kidney Function Tests (KFT) 4. Thyroid Profile (T3, FT4, and TSH) 5. Fasting Lipid Profile 6. Fasting Blood Sugar 7. Glycosylated Haemoglobin (HbA1c) 8. Urine Analysis 9.
