Hba1c test
I had alcohol last night and had hba1c test which comes 6.5. Is this testy is valid if yes what should be the correct value for hba1c.

HBA1c of 6.5% suggest you are standing at the brink of being classed as diabetic. Any value more than 6.5% indicates diabetes, whereas levels between 6.1-6.5% indicates pre-diabetes levels. your level mean that you are likely to get diabetes in the future unless you change your lifestyle that include healthy lifestyle and regular physical exercise and to maintain your weight with in normal levels. Once you do that you can get your HBA1c at 6 monthly interval to ensure the value remains at the same level or below. In case you do cross this level , it might become necessary for you to get started on treatment with medications.
