Hello Doctor,
I am reaching out for an online consultation regarding a recent skin reaction I am experiencing.
A few days ago, I underwent a peel-off treatment. Since then, I have developed:
• New and painful acne on my chin and cheeks
• Redness and inflammation
• Dry, flaky skin on my nose and cheek area
• Increased sensitivity to products that usually suit me
I had been using retinoids earlier (I-Retinext / I-Renol) but stopped them 4–5 days ago because the irritation increased. After the peel, my skin seems to have worsened instead of improving, and I am unsure whether this is normal purging or a sign of over-exfoliation or irritation.
One particular pimple on my chin is quite painful and looks red and inflamed, and I want to know the safest way to reduce it quickly.
I would like your guidance on:
1. Whether this reaction is expected after a peel
2. How I should treat the current acne and dryness
3. Whether I should restart retinoids later or avoid them
4. Any medications or creams

After peeling skin tends to become thinner due to exfoliation. That is why it becomes more sensitive also. Kindly consult for better management and products to suit this situation.
