Fundoplication is a surgical procedure to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It involves wrapping the upper portion of the stomach (fundus) around the lower part of the esophagus to: 1. Prevent stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus 2. Reduce symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation 3. Improve quality of life The procedure can be performed laparoscopically or openly.

It is always better to know the cause of dyspepsia. If it is recurrent, first go for an endoscopy. Other causes like gastroesophageal reflux, infections like h.pylori and ulcers needs to be ruled out.

Yes, fundoplication. It can be done using laparoscopy. However, surgery is usually considered only when medical treatment doesn't work despite taking the right medications for the recommended duration. Please consult a general surgeon or a surgical gastroenterologist to discuss whether this is the right option for you. Visit any major corporate hospital in your city for details regarding the procedure, including the cost.
