Hello, I would really appreciate the help.
A close friend of mine wants to seek help as
she feels that she's experiencing depression. I know for a fact that she overthinks a lot, even generally, but wouldn't want to be judgemental and ignorant of the fact that she actually might be feeling it.
The only reason why I'm worried is maybe this is the effect of getting overexposed to the stories and anecdotes of people, especially celebrities, feeling depression.
I'm really worried for her and would want to support her. We have discussed this a couple of times over a year, whenever she felt like seeing a doctor. But somehow we cancel the appointment after having a discussion, as I felt that it is pointless and she is influenced by me.
So I mainly have two queries
1. Am I unconsciously contributing to the problem by stopping her from seeing a doctor?
2. If we see a doctor, should i accompany her in the actual discussion? Is that even allowed? If yes, would it help if I'm there?
