Need help for a friend.
Hi, I would like to know more about depression. Some friend is going through a tough time. It's like she's hung up on things. Even if she wants to let them go, She is not able to. Could I help in anyway? She tells me she kind of feels ending her life and all the misery she has but she doesn't because it would affect her family, she has found reasons not to. But it doesn't help her from getting away those thoughts. She really needs help. I want to help her. What could I possibly do? Are there any meds she can take? She has anxiety too. She gets panic attacks where she just can't think of anything and it bothers her alot. Please let me know a way to help her.

Yes you can start her with some Medication, from what I see her values are in place as she is not doing anything harmful thinking about her family. After medication she can go for a psychological treatment or counselling. What you can do is to support her and nudge here towards a psychiatrist.

Health Tips
If you see any sign of her harming herself talk to the family and others as soon as possible to make sure she is under their watch
