A high RBC (red blood cell) count, such as 5.6, may indicate a condition in which the body generates an excessive number of red blood cells. Even though this is not dangerous, it can cause thickening of blood, increasing the risk of clotting, stroke, or heart problems if not well controlled. It is critical to see a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and treatment, as more testing is required to rule out underlying illnesses. In terms of nutritional control, advise your husband to stay hydrated to avoid dehydration, which can artificially increase RBC counts. Excessive iron intake should be avoided, as it might contribute to thickening of blood. A diet high in antioxidants (from fruits, vegetables, and whole grains) may also aid to improve overall health. However, medical examination is required for individualized guidance and therapy.

Stay well-hydrated by drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water daily. Add antioxidant-rich foods like berries, spinach, and tomatoes to meals. Limit red meat and iron supplements unless prescribed by a doctor. Control salt and sugar intake strictly to manage BP and sugar levels. Focus on whole grains, green vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Include heart-healthy options like walnuts, almonds, and flaxseeds. Avoid processed foods, sugary drinks, and fried items. Maintain regular meal timings and portion control. Engage in light physical activity, like a 20-minute walk after meals. Regular follow-ups with your doctor are essential for monitoring.

There are different indication of high RBC. Sometimes it may be due to dehydration ( when plasma liquid part is at the lower side) Or lung disorder/ Heart disorder / renal disease/ sleep apnea etc. Even sometimes high stress and anxiety level leads to the same. So before reaching to any conclusion we need to study the complete medical history or if he is going through with any another symptoms or not? Then only it can be figure out about the exact problem
