Abnormality found in 34 weeks scan repor
Hi Doctor, I'm 34 weeks pregnant now. I have done all scans including NT, Anamoly scans and found there are no issues in baby's growth including heart. All the reports are normal.( All these scans are done in mediscan) But suddenly when I did a 34 week scan(local USG Scan center), the report says " ASYMMETRY OF HEART VENTRICLES SUGGESTED" What's causing this all of a sudden and I'm really worried now since it's the baby's heart. Will i deliver the baby safely and will my baby survive?? This is my first pregnancy. Kindly reply and suggest. Attached 34 week scan report for reference.

As far as the report is concerned there will be no issue in delivery.
Next Steps
Get a repeat detailed USG from a fetal medicine specialist or at least MD rafiodiagnosis doctor.

Prognosis of heart disease diagnosed would be known only after birth. Very less chances of report being false positive. Whether the abnormality causing asymmetry is operable or not will be diagnosed later post delivery.

There is nothing sudden about it. It might have been there for some time , or it might have developed when the was growing.  But not all abnormalities can be diagnosed by investigation. And, you never know, it might have no significance. But such abnormalities have a potential of getting the Doctors beaten for no fault of theirs.
