My baby boy will be 7 month old within 2 weeks. When he sit or we hold him he hold his head properly even rotate as we do everything normal. But when we put him sleep on his tummy he is not able to control his head and bang down. If I put some music video in front of him then he hold his head upward continuosly for a minute or above. But without music or his play games he can't hold his head upward and fall down. Sometimes he hold for 10 second. At this much month baby Start for crawling. Even he tries and moves his legs for crawling push himself by his foot and try to shift up. We afraid him to put on stomach for crawling aa he bang his head. He should not hurt himself. Could you please advice

This head lag is due to large head or weak neck muscle. Continue to make him sleep on his tummy and offer him toys from front so that he holds his neck for longer time under monitoring. This will be a good exercise for the child. Visit a pediatrician to get the child checked developmentally

Hello good morning . As of now your baby looks normal Developmentally as per age ( as he sits, hold neck steadily , try to crawls ) he also try to lift his head above level when sound stimulation is given so keep him giving sound stimulus so that slowly he will try to make it . During this try to give him safe surface so that it’s can’t give him any hurt try not to overdo also . Make sure your are not giving any gadgets in form of mobile tv for sound stimulus as it’s not good for their health . Some baby develops as per their pace so not to worry about this ! Keep regular follow up with your Peditrician for growth and development monitoring .

For Achieving milestones is a range, for crawling it is 7-9 months, so it will happen. If your child is sitting with/with out support then fine.

Please visit a developmental pediatrician for assessment of developmental milestones.. usually development is screened at vaccination visits.. also you can increase tummy time but with full adult supervision which promotes neck holding better and do activities with colourful toys for his attention and visual and motor co ordination... But stressing the importance of developmental milestones screening here again

I think there is nothing to worry about. But I would like to ask about his birth history. Was the baby born full term? And did he cry immediately after birth? His mile stones are appropriate for age. I would also like to ask about his social smile and recognition of family members.
