5th metatersal base fracture.
I understood that swelling is common after cast removal as one of the doctor said. But after the removal of the cast , the place where i had fracture is not swollen but the ankle is swollen and that is what's bothering me and i'm worried! Please help

As the ankle was involved inside the cast, swelling is seen in the ankle. As mentioned previously, it will take time to go away. Get a consultation if your problem is persistent or if you have any further questions.

Don’t worry swelling present on fracture site most of the time is not necessarily present. On ankle joint if is present can be due to tight plaster . Hot water fomentation, no massage, limb elevation and medications all needed.

Hello, It will take around 3 months for some people. If no pain, i would not be worried. Apply a crepe bandage for ankle. U should do well
