Swelling after taking my cast off
I broke my 5th metacarpal and had a cast on it for 4 weeks,The doctor took the cast off but now the area is quite swollen I'm not experiencing a lot of pain but some although I am able to move my finger, is this swelling normal

Swelling is common up to 6 months. Usually you get it towards end of the day because of the gravity. As long as no pain , no need to worry. Keep moving fingers and elevation if needed.

Greetings,  sorry about your swelling. It is quite normal to have swelling after cast removed.   It is a sign your body is healing.
Next Steps
get cold and hot shower along with exercise to all fingers.  if done under a physiotherapy supervision it is better.
