After 5 years of acl surgery i have noticed that i am unable to do thunderbolt pose or vajrasan properly on the affected less. There is a tenssion in the affected knee. Is this normal

Yes it can happen. Often times the surgeon keeps the graft extra tight because he doesn't want it to loosen too quickly, because naturally also the graft will become loose slowly.
Hence the tension might be felt.
But keeping at it and stretching the knee will gradually allow you full range

Do you experience instability / did you have any cartilage injury at the time of previous acl injury. Need to see your previous mri film and examine you clinically.
