Not passing urine for 20 hours is not normal and needs urgent evaluation. It may be due to dehydration, urinary retention, or a kidney/urinary tract problem. Please take your child to the nearest emergency department or pediatrician immediately for examination.

Greetings Not passing urine for 20 hours is an early sign of dehydration, as frequent stools cause the body to lose essential water and electrolytes. Potential underlying causes for these symptoms include viral gastroenteritis, a bacterial bowel infection, or a food intolerance. General management of this situation focuses on immediately replacing lost fluids using an Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) given in small, frequent sips, while continuing breast milk or formula. Do not offer undiluted fruit juices or fizzy drinks, as the high sugar content can worsen diarrhea

Hello, A 1-year-old boy not passing urine for more than 20 hours needs to be evaluated .Sometimes a wet diaper may be missed if the child has passed stools several times, but if you are certain that there has been no urine for this long, it is important not to delay. It would be best to consult your paediatrician at the earliest so that the child can be examined for dehydration, abdominal distension or tenderness, and any possible cause for not passing urine.. Meanwhile keep giving him fluids and seek consultation at the earliest..
