Cholelithiasis (Gallstone)

I Vyasan Bhaskar, stationed at Pune. Here I would like to brief you about my last three months health conditions and the experiences that I had.

In the Mid of April 2020, One day I had severe stomach pain which lasted for more than 3 hours. This pain got repeated every 7 days for the next three weeks. During these days, I was consulting a doctor near to my residence and was taking pain killers and Anti-acid tablets thinking the problem was due to acidity.

Symptoms that I had was sudden and rapid intensifying pain in the upper right portion of abdomen, gas formation in the stomach, burping, burning sensation inside the stomach, and pain on the shoulder blades. Pain lasts for more than 5 hours.

As this continued, I decided to consult my family doctor (back in Kerala) through telephone. He suggested to do an Ultrasound scan and I was diagnosed with Gallstone. After that I consulted many doctors in Pune seeking remedies. Even I took homeopathy medicine thinking that the stone can be dissolved, which ended with no result.

Finally and fortunately, I landed up in God gifted hands-Dr. Girish Bapat(CALOMS). What differentiates him from other doctors is his approach towards the patients. He is highly approachable and reachable at any time. A well balanced professional. He guided properly and made me understand the necessity to remove the gallbladder stopping further infection. His guidance at right time helped me to avoid any further complexities. We need more doctors like Dr. Girish Bapat Sir who can guide us through the right medical assistance at right time. Entire process went very smooth starting from the initial appointment to the surgery.

Surgery was on 27th June 2020. Now recovering at home.

Five months back I visited Dr. Girish Bapat for laparoscopic surgery of hiatus hernia repair. I was referred by Dr. Parimal Lawate for surgery. After visiting many other renowned gastroenterologist doctors in Pune thankfully I landed in safe hands. Dr. Girish Bapat is very disciplined and a humble human being. He listens to our problems carefully and gives sufficient time to his patients. He explains the medical condition and the how the surgical procedure is to be performed in detail. His approach is very friendly which eases out fear and nervousness.

He performed Nissen Fundoplication surgery on me. The overall event of surgery was very smooth. Post surgery I was given diet instructions by Dr. Suchit Kamlapur (Dietician). She herself regularly took follow up on phone which was highly appreciated. She was just a call away for every smallest query.

Since last 5 months of the surgery I didn’t had any single issue. Thank you Dr. Girish Bapat and his team !!

The experience was on expected lines , very satisfying one. The issue was discussed at length , explained well .

I was having pain under and back side of the rib cage. Another doctor suggested lipoma excision and went To Dr. Girish sire for second opinion. He reviewed all my reports (incl MRI) and examined thoroughly and suggested that there is no excision/ surgery needed, it was relief to know. He did conclude that this mostly a spasm and physiotherapy would help. I highly recommend him.

I went there for the Hernia consultation for my father and doctor explained me everything and as My father is not in Pune at this moment but will be coming in this diwali and we are planning to do the hernia repair.Doctor gave me the list to do few tests and visit again to decide when we can do repair and what type would be possible.I will keep updating this for feedback as to help others.overall I am much satisfied with dr. My wife had severe stomach pain and on Lab test we came to know that it was because of the Hernia that developed in her stomach. Since we are new to Pune, from the website of 'Practo' , we came to know that Dr Girish Bapat is a highly qualified and experienced /renowned Doctor in Pune on this specific subject. We immediately booked an appointment with him through 'Practo' which did even took us more than 10 minutes.

The next day when we met him, he explained in detail the need for an immediate treatment, particularly to go in for the Laparoscopic Surgery to avoid further complications.
