Review for Dr. Madhuri Laha
Hospital: Motherhood (Pune, Kharadi).
My Story:
My wife and I both are not from Pune (or even Maharashtra). During the early pregnancy we were consulting on of the big Dr. in Deccan for our second child. However as the nationwide lock down started, we were looking for any good Dr. nearby (Kharadi or Magarpatta City). One of our neighbor gave her reference that, they were consulting to Dr. Madhuri Laha, and came to know that she was waiting almost for 12 hrs. in April month lockdown and successfully deliver baby. It was amaze to hear that any dr. who is waiting for 12 hrs. for a normal delivery.
We went to Motherhood hospital with appointment first time in May month. The junior Dr. took all past histories and reports. First meeting with Dr is for maximum 8-10 mins. There was hardly much discussion, she talked on normal diet mostly and gave only two medicine and asked to have daily walks. We felt like, is it really good as there was not much interaction with her. But after consulting for 6-7 months and finally we understand she was just perfect. If there is no such complication, there is nothing to discuss much, it absolutely fine.
During 34th week:
My wife felt the baby movement was less in the morning. As Dr. Madhuri suggested if we felt anything unusual that time (on just previous consulting day) come and get admitted directly. As suggested we don’t call Motherhood, just reached in the hospital. Dr. arrived and the sonography found that, the baby movement is really less. She suggested that there are two option, if it’s really require we may have to go for pre mature delivery, the other is to give saline and medicine which will be beneficial for baby’s movement increment. She clearly mentioned that we have to take call for less risk procedure (giving saline), and it actually work. After 5 hrs. we were back at home with all good. The baby movement was back as normal.
On 37Week + :
On early morning my daughter mentioned that, her water broke, and we rushed to Hospital. Wife get admitted immediately. Dr. Madhuri came and checked her and found she was having labor pain(less though). Note that, our Kid has “Double loop” on neck (which was found on earlier sonography). Despite water broke and double loop she was confident to go with normal delivery. Around 2:30 pm she take another look to my wife and said labor pain is still less and it will take few more hrs. to get the actual delivery. She also mentioned that she feel that the delivery may took around 6-7 pm.
Around 5:30 pm wife started having the intense pain. Junior dr. gave call to Madhuri maa’m and explained the same and she rushed to hospital in 10-15 mins. My wife delivered our second kid around 6:40 pm successfully. Her junior Dr. and rest of the team were too supportive as well
I was amazed to see her medical experience with the assumptions (timing), and her capability with the complexity (double loop and water broken) but still went for normal delivery. Even our Covid test result was awaiting (as we came as emergency and sample taken at hospital in the morning), but she never questioned about it. However next day we found all our Covid test came (-) ve.
Review for Dr. Madhuri Laha:
As a normal people we always want to consult “Pehchan ki” (Known) Gynecologist for delivery. I am not sure if “pehchan ki dr.” term can be applicable to Dr. Madhuri Laha or not but her diagnosis, treatment and medical choices according to situation is just like your own “pehchan ki dr.” . She always believed her own capabilities and prefer for natural delivery which is amazing. In my personal case with water broken and double loop complexity, I believe she may the rarest dr. who still chose to go for successful normal delivery.
As said, being not local to Pune or Maharashtra, we have anxiety that how we can find a dr who can go for normal delivery. And Dr. Madhuri was exactly the same kind of Dr who is well capable and still believe in normal delivery can be possible even with complex situation and actually perform it with highest proficiency.
I definitely recommend other fellow patient who believe normal delivery can still possible in current timing.

Note: My story is going to be long as I had long journey with her with high risk pregnancy, so I am writing summary of my story first for those who just want feedback of Dr madhuri and not interested in my story.
Summary: Dr madhuri laha is best to help you prepare for conceiving by recommending right diagnosis test and medicine.
2) Recommend **** medicine based on current and future risks.
3) Takes extra care and quick to respond on wattsapp/ call for emergency (especially during lockdown )
4) Recommend and help in urgent appointment with other specialists if required.
5) Discuss the case personally with other specialists available outside hospital if required.
6) personally check/ call you( in case of high risks) to ensure everything is going well as per plan.
7) Help you to understand financial involved and with discount on medicine if possible.
My Story: I was working with IT COMPANY for around good 11 years and was unconceiously leaving highly stressed life. I was in mid 30s when I left my job started planning family. After planning for ,3-4 months I visited her told my story.
Because of my age she advised us how and when we can
proceed and alternatives in case first step didn't work.
As first step she advised us to try based on follicular study .
We were able to conceive but aborted naturally.
She motivated us that natural abortion is not bad but good for us. It helps us to avoid late pregnancy problem or any other defect in fetus and asked to wait for 3-4 months (because of age factor) and try again.
We waited for 3 months , she recommended some medicine to avoid early abortion.
We conceived again after 2-3 months with twins. It was a mono do twin pregnancy which is highly risky.
She recommended all possible medicine and diagnosis to avoid/ handle risks at later stage.
During second trimester ultrasound showed some complications to second baby which as per our sonographer was normal in such pregnancies. I got gestational diabetes as well. She recommended me **** medicine to her knowledge to overcome the risk and stretch
My delivery as long as possible.
During 31st week I got some Gastroenterology troubles as well. All of these made my pregnancy a high risk pregnancy.
Instead of handling my gestro issues herself she asked me to concult a Gastroenterologist. But due to lockdown no doctor was available.she requested dr Nisha to assist me on wattsapp. On her request dr Nisha assisted me on wattsapp , recommended me relevant tests and medicine. She was also quick in replying. Dr Laha personally discussed my case with her on daily basis ( based on daily tests). Prepared me for early delivery and tried her best to stretch my delivery as much as possible based on my daily sonography and gastro tests reports and also consulting with sonographer and Gastroenterologist.
In between I was required to go for one abdomen ultrasound which was not available in motherhood hospital and outside sonographer were not doing any tests without prescription. Due to lockdown I didn't had written prescription, she helped me in this situation as well by requesting outside sonographer.
When required she used to call me personally to explain what is the current status and how far we can stretch to limit NICU stay.
She tried her best to stretch my pregnancy till 34th week . But I was too scared to take further risk. Finally on 33rd wee she delivered my twins. Now my babies are 3 months old and in good health.
In my opinion she is best. She gave me her best both professionally (with her speciality) and personally (by consulting other specialists whenever required).
P.S: many people says she is not friendly but I will say she is too busy to gossip. She is out spoken which she should be. After all it's doctor's responsibility to tell you all the risks and risks can't be sweet and sugar coated.

We Visited the Doctor the day I found out I was pregnant, our 1st session was very brief where she suggested us few test and a follow up visit after 3 weeks. In my next visit I told her about a skin cream( Retino AC) I was using since last 9 years which had Vitamin A in it, initially she got very upset about not disclosing this in our 1st visit( honestly I never thought it would be such a big thing as I was using that for last 9 years and was suggested by my dermatologist), and then Doc suggested we may have to terminate the pregnancy as it has adverse health impact it May have on the baby but she also recommended that since the Vitamin A dose was not oral the impact maybe minimum we can take the risk and referred us to Feotal specialist for NT Scan for taking the final call. Thank God the report from the scan was normal and the baby was healthy so we continued with the pregnancy :-) Next few months the doctor focused on my diet and exercise and kept explaining in every visit on what we can expect in the coming weeks... It was all going good unless we discovered about Assymetrical IUGR in our week 28 growth scan, she gave me medicines(Alamin M) to increase the baby weight and suggested Protien diet. In our week 32 and week 36 growth scan the IUGR was still evident so she suggested for delivery in week 38 taking a calculated risk considering my Gestational Diabetes as it would have increased the risk for the baby if we waited after that... Her initial plan was to go for normal delivery but during investigation she discovered that the cervix was not open so she gave us the option to decide if we wanted to wait for another week for normal delivery or opt for C-section considering the risk associated. As my Aunt was also gynaecologist we took her opinion on this matter ( we wanted to be absolutely sure as it involved the baby) and Doc Madhuri happily offered to discuss the case with her over the phone where they both took the decision to continue with c-section considering the risk.. A day later our princess came into the world( through c-section) and was absolutely healthy(2.7 kg at 38 weeks). We can only thank the doctor for taking the right decision for me and my baby. I would highly recommend her for your pregnancy experience :-)

Hi Guys, I am extremely happy to share that I was blessed with a baby boy last week, 3rd Oct 2020.
Dr. Madhuri Laha, was very professional was very supportive at each visit. Initially I looked at the online comments and approached her at 28th week of my wife's pregnancy. I was bit reluctant though at the first visit, it was my first time to visit such a big hospital and that too a gynaecologist. But, she not only helped my wife to relax but also talked openly to me.
We being South Indian, my wife do not know, Hindi, Marathi or English. Mam, clearly and openly communicated things to me, which I told to my wife. I was very happy with that.
Especially I liked the fact she herself suggested for normal pregnancy, which is why I visited her in first place.
On the morning of the the D day, I took my wife for routine checkup, and she said you can expect the baby anytime now, within 2 hours or within 2 days, we went home and the same day evening my wife started getting labour pains, I was not sure if it was labour pain or something else, but as Mam had already told in morning we can expect baby any time, and my wife too insisted, we rushed to the hospital around 10:50 PM, my wife was immediately taken to the labour room and Dr. Madhuri mam was called in. Within few minutes (around 11PM) she arrived rushing into labour room (tough job), just minutes after I heard the child crying, it was so cinematic, but true.
We all were happy, mam went home... But after some time, my wife started to have low BP, started loosing her pulse. During such difficult times Madhuri Mam were with us, she was constantly on call and things got better eventually...
Now both Mom and Child are doing good.
I usually do not write such huge reviews, but, this could really help someone!!!
