I initially visited the clinic because of a cavity. Instead of immediately suggesting a root canal, Dr. Ratnika carefully examined my tooth and explained that since the nerve was not exposed, it could be treated with a simple filling. The most special part of my treatment was my smile correction. I had always felt a little conscious about my smile because of gaps in my side teeth and a small uneven tooth that affected the overall look of my smile. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Dr. Ratnika’s Smile Up Dental Clinic regarding my braces treatment.

I underwent around 6–7 months of orthodontic treatment at the clinic. However, it has not even been a year since my treatment was completed, and despite regularly using my retainers, I have developed significant gaps between my teeth again.

After consulting multiple local dentists in my hometown, I was informed that the major reason for the gaps could be a tongue-thrusting issue. What is particularly disappointing is that I had specifically asked the doctor and the person managing the clinic/management team multiple times—around 2–3 times—to check whether I had a tongue-thrusting problem. I was completely new to orthodontic treatment and was not aware of this issue myself. Despite my repeated concerns, I was told that I did not have a tongue-thrusting problem.

If this was actually an underlying issue affecting the stability of my orthodontic treatment, I feel it should have been identified and addressed before or during the braces treatment. A patient relies on their orthodontist to properly diagnose such factors and explain them transparently.

I followed the treatment, completed the required months, and have also been using my retainers, yet the teeth have started moving back and gaps have developed again in such a short period. This has left me feeling that the time, effort, and money I invested in the treatment have not given me a lasting result.*** ** *** ******* **** ****** ** ********** ****** **** ******** *** ******* *** I genuinely feel that patients should be given a thorough assessment and complete information about any underlying issues that could affect the outcome of their treatment. If there is a concern such as tongue thrusting that can contribute to relapse, it should be identified and communicated clearly to the patient.

I sincerely hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and improves the assessment, communication, and follow-up process so that other patients do not have to go through a similar experience.
