My father underwent robotic inguinal hernia surgery on 21st January 2026, and the entire experience was smooth and reassuring. From the very first consultation, Dr. Jadhav sir explained the condition, the procedure, and the recovery process in a simple and clear manner, which gave our family a lot of confidence.

The surgery was successful, and my father's recovery was faster than expected. He experienced minimal pain and no complications. Most importantly, he was able to resume his regular work by the 5th day after surgery, which was a huge relief for us.

I am Dr. Dineshkumar Shah, a 76-year-old retired physician. It was a hot period in mid-April '26, right around the time schools were letting out for vacation. I was in good health, but one fine morning, I noticed a bulge in my left lower abdomen. Whenever I applied slight pressure with my palm, the bulge would disappear. Since I belong to the medical profession, I knew this was a kind of hernia. I diagnosed myself with a left inguinal hernia.

Now what? I knew about the complications, etc., if left untreated. I started thinking about a second opinion from a good surgeon. But this was a bit difficult because I was new to Pune city. I was aware of health facilities available in this city, but how to select one?

My physiotherapist was from Pune, and she suggested Dr. Sudhir Jadhav, a good general surgeon based in this city. Soon I established contact with him, the first consultation was done in his clinic. These were about his training and achievements in the field of robotic surgery.

He examined me, and the diagnosis of left inguinal hernia was confirmed. He advised me to undergo a sonography and other investigations.

I met him again with the reports of all the investigations. It was confirmed that the hernia was unilateral only.

We then discussed my surgical options. All three different modes of surgery were discussed. Since Dr. Sudhir had good experience with robotic surgery, he explained to me its benefits. I agreed to his suggestion, and a plan was made to perform surgery at Apollo Hospital, Swargate, Pune. A senior anaesthetic expert, Dr. Shahu, built my confidence in the O.T.

There was minimal pain, no stitches on the outer surface of the abdomen, and easy mobility from day one.

I am also grateful to the hospital authorities for upgrading my accommodation facility during my stay in the hospital.

Many thanks and gratitude to Dr. Sudhir Jadhav for his advice and robotic surgery. He is not only a good surgeon but a good human being too. He is very polite, down-to-earth, and has good communication skills.
