Hey everyone, In case if you are reading this review I'm assuming that you are looking for a therapist just like I did a couple of months back. I was very skeptical just like you guys and also vulnerable when I first met aarthi.
I was in lot of pain and speaking even a couple of sentences without breaking down would seem like something next to impossible for me. Because of the depression I used to have forgetfulness which made it even difficult for my already restless brain to commit anything(including vocab) to memory. So, I was afraid of being judged as well but once the session has started with aarthi and samyuktha, all my worries got disappeared. They made me feel at ease, they empathised with me, provided me some good insight and offered sensible and much practical advice.
I smiled for the first time post session after many months and I can never forget that day.
In case if you are in doubt whether to visit pause for perspective or not just give it one try. you may or may not continue sessions with them further but you will definitely love the experience.
good luck! :)

I practically owe my life to Aarathi is by no means an exaggeration.
I clearly remember the only reason I even reached out to her in the first place was only because I did not know how to deal with myself and I just needed to know how to survive. I had lost all in interest in life.
I saw her first in Feb'16 and had my own doubts if she could help me in anyway. Nevertheless, I tried. And my first session with her was not great -- primarily because I, in those 75 minutes with her, did not tell her what the real issue was or why I was in her clinic.
I did not see her again for the next 3 months. The second time I scheduled a session with her was when I decided to tell her everything and ask for help and she HELPED. She treats me as a person and not as a patient.
Aarathi is extremely efficient, compassionate and gives her 100% attention even if it is the last session of the day. Despite seeing so many others, the fact that she remembers important names and incidents goes on to show that she cares.
Her clinic is one of the safest places where you can be assured of confidentiality. I always felt safe speaking my mind without the fear of being judged.
The best part of my sessions with Aarathi is that she does not impose her suggestions on me. Although a lot of times I'd disagree with her suggestions/advice during the sessions, I'd eventually come to realize her suggestions were the right thing to do.
The place I am at today, was unimaginable for me when I started seeing her.
The best decision I ever made was seeing Aarathi and she will remain an integral part of my story.
I still continue to see her as the battle is only half won and I definitely recommend Aarathi to anyone who, even remotely, in their mind know they need help but do not know whom to approach.
Note: For first timers to therapy, Aarathi (or for that matter, any therapist) is not a magician and she does not have a wand - which when waved, solves all your problems. Therapy usually takes time to show results and I suggest you give yourself and the therapist that kind of time before writing them off.

Ms Selvan isn't just a therapist, she's more. She connects with the client. She's like a close friend, who deeply wants her clients to feel and get better. She's tries her best, she often completely gets involved with the client. She's very educated, but more than that, she understands the client based on her own experience with mental illnesses, which I believe is very important in the job of psychotherapy. I've been her client for over a year, we've had our ups and downs, but she won't give up even if you do. Would definitely recommend Ms Selvan.

Aarathi ma’am is fundamentally a good human being who’s genuinely interested in helping and curing people. I remember I was at my nadir when I first visited her. Now, two years later, I don’t claim that all my problems have magically vanished in thin air, but I’m definitely better equipped to deal with the my issues. The best part is, thanks to the counselling, I was able to connect the dots of my past and identify the root cause of my suffering because it’s very important to know what you’re suffering from, before dealing with the problem. I actually feel safe pouring my heart out to her and personally I feel blissful at the end of every session with ma’am.
She’s very easygoing and affable by nature and I was at ease discussing my problems right from day one. Aarathi ma’am is all ears while you're speaking and remembers the smallest of points shared during the sessions, which is a testimony to the fact that she genuinely cares for you. She's clinical yet empathetic in her approach and precise in her diagnosis and treatment. Would definitely recommend her to anybody suffering from psychological issues. Also, it’s very important to have immense faith to trust them and act on their advice. I owe it to her for pulling me out of the quagmire and helping me become a better person. All I can say is the world needs more people like Aarathi ma’am to make it a better and happier place.

Comment following my first appointment with Aarathi Selvan.
Aarathi asks questions that make one pause and think about the feelings one is experiencing. Enables a space for reflective conversation. Enables a space to spend engaged time exploring one specific feeling (or thought, or turn of phrase, or memory) at a time. The pace of the conversation and the manner of focus was helpful for me - as well as instructive - because I often think/ feel/ speak multiple things in a rush. The conversation enabled different framings/ perspectives for a few things I felt I 'knew' about, and this first appointment felt like a good start for going ahead into more interactions with her.

Aarathi Selvan is one of the kindest and most genuine people I have ever met. As a therapist, she is very warm, extremely well informed and perceptive. For several years, I was hesitant to take up help with various issues that I have been facing and this was a therefore a huge step for me. I was comfortable with Aarathi from my very first session and am extremely grateful to her presence in my life. In addition to being super professional and creating a space that is calming, she is empathetic, non-judgmental, and very good at helping me put my thoughts into words during my therapy sessions. I have been growing to love and respect myself in a new light with the support of Pause for Perspective and the warm staff members. There is a dignity with which I am treated, and I feel very cared for. I am able to communicate more effectively with family and in professional circles, feel empowered to express myself, and am beginning to find the joy in life which I thought was missing. Aarathi makes me feel deeply valued, and that my life matters, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a mental health professional and considerate practitioner.

I was looking for a therapist/counsellor after a bad experience with a psychiatrist cum counsellor and my cousin suggested I go to Aarathi. Aarathi's clinic has so much of a positive vibe about it, let it be the soothing music, quotes written all around or the creative activities that you can do while you wait. It's like the healing begins the moment you enter the clinic even before you meet the therapist.
Aarathi never made me wait for my appointment. They were always on time as per the appointment time sent. Aarathi was very patient, she listened to me with full attention before offering her suggestions. She surely valued the time given to me and heard me out without interruption from any colleague/staff (unlike the psychiatrist I have been to who made me feel least important like I was eating away her time and she, my money). That was such a welcome change. Aarathi made me see the emotionaI issues that I have been facing, due to a bad childhood, with lucidity. She was able to pinpoint the root cause because of which I was able to let go off all the burden that I was carrying since childhood. My sessions with Aarathi have brought about a drastic positive shift in my intra and inter personal relationships. My head and in turn my life seem lighter and happier now. I sincerely thank Aarathi from the bottom of my heart for making me see things that I have missed and for bringing about a positive shift in my life.

I went to see Aarathi Selvan seeking help with relationship issues i am going through. She helped me understand the situation with a different perspective and offered solutions. Her advise helped me and my family to rebuild the happy environment.
she also made me feel confident to start working towards the goals which i have been procrastinating for a long time. She also helped one of my young family member offering various tools to get over the social pressures and fears which are blocking her from being a happy child.
I am very glad that we took her sessions and recovered from the issues which we have been having past few years. Thank you Aarathi.
I would strongly recommend Aarathi to anybody who is going through any issue.

We went to the doctor with an intent to apprehend our problem, but what we felt lacking was the doctor is more into listening mode and less into giving suggestions/ solutions. After doing first 2 sessions separately, we didnt find a solution during our third session also which was a combined one. It's not value for money in my view.
