Yoshita ji Though you have not mentioned name of the patient, I could recognize your mother (as this type of cases are very rare and I saw less than five in my 30 yrs of ENT practice) and I’m replying to you. It was very demotivating to hear about your complaint. Your mother has sudden loss of smell 6 months after the last surgery and this is unrelated to the surgery. The 3rd surgery was a cosmetic surgery and was done by an expert in Rhinoplasty field from Pune with whom you discussed before surgery. When I examined your mother around 25 days back for this complaint the nose and sinuses were absolutely normal. There was no visible infection or visible defect in the nose. Such issues happen due to viral infection and same thing was explained to the patient and her husband. This viral infection cannot be proved or disproved by any culture or blood test or scanning. However, endoscopy was done and it is normal. It is unfair to blame me that I have not explained to you. Such problems recover spontaneously without any treatment. Regarding three surgeries you mentioned; first one is for sinus infection and that healed well and now she taking treatment for allergy. Few months later after the 1st surgery she developed infection in her soft bone of the nose and this is not related to the first surgery or surgeon. However, the 2nd surgery was done POOR-FREE by the hospital on humanitarian grounds. This we don’t like to mention but I am forced to clarify. Because of the infection soft bone of the nose has dissolved, resulting in alteration of the shape of the nose. This needs Cosmetic Rhinoplasty surgery and was done again POOR FREE by the hospital on humanitarian grounds. The reduction of the soft bone of the nose is due to the infection and not because of my surgery. (Whenever there is infection to soft bone of any part of the body it reduces as it has no blood supply to regenerate. ) We have given best of the care possible at POOR FREE ( 2nd and 3rd surgeries) AND BLAMING ME FOR THE ISSUES NOT UNDER MY CONTROL. Regarding waiting for 3 hrs…. it is only 1Hr 50 min and I always request you to take appointment to avoid waiting time. On that day It happened to counsel three patients who were diagnosed with cancer and required little detailed explanation about their disease and for better outcomes in a deadly disease. Sorry for the late reply as I look into internet very rarely and yesterday one of my patients informed that such a complaint is there and I am giving my explanation.
