Anand Eye Institute is a comprehensive eye hospital at Nagendra Nagar Colony in Habsiguda, Hyderabad, providing medical and surgical ophthalmology for all age groups.The institute began in 2001 as the Vitreo Retinal Institute, set up to treat retinal conditions. In 2007 it was incorporated as Anand Vitreo Retinal Institute, and in 2010 it became a comprehensive eye care and training facility under its present name. A branch followed at Kondapur.Retinal services remain the institute's founding strength, covering vitreoretinal disease with optical coherence tomography and fundus photography for assessment.Cataract surgery, refractive surgery including LASIK, squint correction, uveitis, paediatric ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology make up the rest of the clinical work, with optometry and optical dispensing on site.The Habsiguda building runs to five floors and about 16,000 square feet. It holds nine outpatient consultation rooms, four optometry and workup rooms, an outpatient procedure room, inpatient accommodation for around 50 patients, a floor given over to diagnostics, provision for an eye bank, and a floor with four air-conditioned operation theatres built with air filtration and decontamination for sterile surgery. A medical and optical shop and a canteen operate on the premises.Anand Eye Institute is located at 7-147/1, Nagendra Nagar Colony, Habsiguda, Hyderabad, opposite the Indian Oil petrol station. Habsiguda sits on the eastern side of the city along the Warangal highway between Tarnaka and Uppal, close to the Uppal metro terminus and the ring road interchange. That makes the institute reachable both from the older Secunderabad side and from the districts east of the city, which matters for retinal surgery, where patients are referred in from well outside Hyderabad.
