WT extraction site sensitive to heat
I extracted my upper wisdom tooth 3 weeks back. I had a follow up last week and OMFS said the site is healed. I didn't eat or chew at all that side from day 1. And taking only very soft foods. No hard foods or chewy foods and only room temperature foods. Yesterday and today , I tried to eat some hot foods and I tried to chew that side and I feel sharp pain on the extraction site once and I stopped eating that side. Today, I had some hot foods and hot water and I feel some sensitivity on that extraction site for a second or two. After that it was normal. Attaching x-ray take after the extraction. I feel very sore in the upper side and the extraction side. Feels like stretching. Is this normal to have these before the gums /tissues formed? Is this normal?

Sometimes after extraction, although the socket starts healing, sharp bony edge can still remain around the socket which may not be clinically visible after the tissue has formed over it. Since you described your pain as sudden and sharp, that too on chewing from that side for the first time, I would advice you to go the dentist and get that bone around the socket filed. Once they have smoothened the sharp edges of the bone, I think you will be fine.
Next Steps
get that area evaluated for sharp bony edges. if there are any, get them filed.

It should subside in a week if not then it might be because of the adjecent tooth ,little bone loss is seen in adjecent teeth or there might be initial cavity which is not seen in radiograph ,or there might be any exposed sharp edge bone which can only be inspected clinically See for 7-10 days if it doesn’t subside ,visit your dentist

The sensitivity can be beacuse of adjacent tooth or any sharp bony projection. Kindly get an IOPA radiograph of that area for finer details.
Next Steps
You can perform warm saline rinses (1 Glass like warm water with 1 tsp salt) 2-3 times per day
Health Tips
Avoid extreme hot and cold foods
