Wisdom tooth removal
Hi. I had a sensitive tooth in front and also my right lower wisdom tooth was misaligned. When I visited a dental clinic. My doctor said I have over bitting issues and have to remove all 4 wisdom tooth and then start braces treatment. Question is why should I remove all 4 when the problem is with only 1? Does removing all 4 causes any problem for me in future?? As people say the nerve do connect the brain. Little worried. Please advice.

Braces will always help you to have a permanent solution to your anterior overbite. However if the line of treatment doesn't seem feasible to you, there are other ways to restore your anterior bite. Secondly, Removing all molars must have had been advised according to your dentition and with braces being the treatment in mind.  If you don't want to wear braces; removing the wisdom tooth causing trouble and the wisdom tooth opposing it would be sufficient. It is necessary to remove the opposing wisdom tooth as it would start over hanging/ supra erupting within a short span of time after removal of the lower wisdom tooth.

If you remove only 1 wisdom tooth, there can be supraeruption and malocclusion. There is no problem in removing all 4 wisdom teeth.

All the 4 wisdom teeth are removed to create space and avoid malalignment. So depending on your condition, doctor must have advised you.
