Wisdom tooth ache
I have swelling and pain due to wisdom tooth and my doctor gave me Clavam 625 as antibiotic for 3 days to reduce pain and swelling. Is it correct? Or what will happen if I stop antibiotics?

I hope as a doctor has already prescribed you some medicines. He must have done by co-relating with the clinical scenario. Dnt try starting or stopping medicines on your own. Visit your doctor and do ask for the same.

The doctor prescribes the medicines after the proper clinical evaluation and he is the best judge to decide which antibiotic is to be given and for what duration. Is there any particular reason you want to stop the antibiotics??? Because if there is not, you will be experimenting with your own health by going against the doctor's opinion. For dental infections antibiotics are not given to cure the infection but to provide an antibiotic coverage for invasive procedures like tooth extraction. If you do not trust the doctors opinion you always have an option of taking a second opinion but the person who performs the clinical evaluation will be in a better position to recommend any treatment modality rather than the people on this platform who have not seen the case clinically. Regards
