Wisdom teeth(RL): orientation inside gum
Right side wisdom tooth pain severe, teeth is visible one part only, rest teeth is inside gums and it's paining a lot, if i stop taking pain killer then pain increase rapidly. From two days it started paining. I am taking mobizox and augmentin625 starting today. Today morning, i observe that some blood strain is visible as well. Painkiller is only effective for 5 hrs and after that it started paining so i have to take another pill. Is tooth extraction possible from gums, is this major surgery or can be done with minimal pain. But i am afraid of taking so many pain killers tablets. What I should know before going for extraction, is dentist can able to do it BDS or specialist recommend for it? I am living in Electronic city phase 1 Bangalore.

You may need to get the wisdom tooth surgically removed. The difficulty of it will be determined after you take a full mouth x ray (OPG). The procedure will be a minor surgery. Local anesthesia injection will be given in that area and depending on its position in the jaw some amount of bone may be needed to be drilled with or without splitting of the tooth into smaller pieces for easy removal. The entire procedure should be painless, is done from inside the mouth and does not need any stay at hospital.

From your description, this sounds like a partially erupted wisdom tooth with infection/inflammation this condition is called pericoronitis This commonly causes severe pain, gum bleeding, and pain relief only for a few hours with tablets. Medicines can control symptoms temporarily, but definitive treatment is removal of the wisdom tooth. Yes, the tooth can be extracted even if it is partially inside the gums. This is a minor surgical procedure, done under local anesthesia, and you should not feel pain during the procedure, only pressure is felt It is not a major surgery in most cases
Next Steps
A BDS dentist trained in extractions can do simple cases, but if the tooth is deeply impacted or close to nerves, a specialist (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon) is preferred for safety and faster healing.
Health Tips
It’s understandable to worry about painkillers—prolonged use is not ideal, which is why early extraction is advised once infection is controlled. Please don’t worry this is a very common, routine procedure, and most patients feel significant relief within 2–3 days after extraction.

Rather try searching MDS ( maxillofacial surgeon) .They are specialized in complex oral surgeries and tooth extraction. Most probably you will need to get the last tooth extracted.
