Don't wait till you get pain. If it is restorable go for filling of the tooth. If the tooth is nt in a proper position better to remove it

Get an X-ray done. If it is correctly positioned and the cavity is not very deep then a filling can be done. However if it is wrongly positioned or the cavity is too deep then better to remove it now then wait for the pain because once infection sets in it is unnecessarily more complicated
