Please discuss with the Operating surgeon or with the Anaesthetist. Patient being on ventilator after Gall bladder surgery is not a routine thing.

Pt was kept on ventilator because he was given general anaesthesia….. it can be removed once his respiratory efforts work of respiration and saturations are maintained

There is no fixed no. of hours / days , best to talk to Anesthesiologist and the Surgeon

So you should elaborate about your complete history then it can be decided that you will get recover completely in how many day. I think that your should take consultation from  a good doctor.
