You need to understand first that gall bladder wall is the source of gall stones,,, gall stone itself is not the problem... So laparoscopic gall bladder removal or cholecystectomy is the treatment and not gall stone removal. 1.8 cms is quite a big stone... Which tells that problem is since long time. So it shd be dealt with early unless it starts causing problems. Like impaction, infection of gall bladder.
