Which medicines to take
I have PCOD. The doctor prescribed metformin 500mg twice a day and cytomid 250mg once a day. I want to take oral contraceptives. Which would be safe to take along with these other medicines? Also won't cause weight gain or hair fall.

Whether u hv regular periods or irregular ..whether hirsutism present or not  no hormonal reports shared. U are pcos or something else, nothing can be  said  as pcos is diagnosis of exclusion. Even if u are pcos treatment depends on clinical and biochemical profile and concern of pt.  married or not also considered before prescrbing treatment. Ur treatment hints probably u are obese with androgenic features. Ocps are  prescribed in those having irregular cycles. In young girls many a times only progesterone induced withdrawal bleed advocated.. So better let doctor do its job rather than u experimenting on urself. If not satisfied with present treatment take second opinion froma gud endocrinologist in your vicnity .But self medication is never advised

Metformin helps overcome the basic defect in pcod as well as aids in weight loss. More than anything it's the gradual lifestyle changes ie. Food habits , exercises which are more important in pcod. Discuss with your doctor and do not start hormonal medicines without a doctor's evaluation .
