As your friend is suffering from hyperthyroidism in which thyroid hormone is overactive which increases metabolism in body because of this she is loosing weight.
First of all need to know the vital of thyroid and recent test report then only suggest any diet.
Take frequent meals at regular intervals.Take adequate sleep of atleast 8 hrs everyday.Do light exercises for 20 mins daily.
