For gastritis, follow a home diet that includes bland foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast, as well as other gentle-on-the-stomach foods like plain crackers, cooked vegetables, lean proteins, low-fat dairy, and herbal teas, while avoiding spicy, acidic, fatty, and high-fiber foods, caffeine, and carbonated drinks.
