Hi doctor i was having severe fatigue and dizziness i am having 14 months old baby and i am vegetarian by choice so doctor asked me to do cbc creatine hba1cvitamin b12crp cpk thyroid magnesium ferritincalcium alp phosphorus everything is in range but
Vitamin b12 is 290 lab range 239-930
Ferritin-18.2 range 6.2-134
Magnesium 1.7 range 1.6-2.3
I am assuming all these 3 are in border line
Or is these values sufficient ?
What is your Haemoglobin, serum iron, calcium?
During breast feeding , requirements of iron and calcium are more. Moreover with a small baby, if you are not getting sufficient rest and irregular meals, it can cause stress and affect health. You can take supplements.
Your intuition is correct â all three values are borderline, and in your situation (postpartum, vegetarian, breastfeeding), they are significantly relevant. The most important finding is your Ferritin of 18.2 â although it is technically within lab range, for a postpartum woman, ferritin below 30 is considered functionally low and is one of the most common causes of severe fatigue and dizziness after delivery. Your B12 of 290 is also on the lower end â as a vegetarian, your only dietary sources are dairy and eggs, and B12 demand is higher when breastfeeding. You should ideally have B12 above 400-500. Magnesium is also at the very lower edge. Together, these three explain your symptoms well and all warrant supplementation under your doctor's guidance.
Next Steps
Ask your doctor to prescribe iron and B12 supplements based on your current values â do not self-medicate. A follow-up check in 3 months will confirm improvement. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
Proper evaluation and personalised advice are needed for your concern. A detailed consultation would be best to provide accurate guidance.

Your Ferritin is low meaning low iron level. Others are borderline. This may cause weakness and mental confusion.
Next Steps
You have to find the cause of borderline measurements. Do a complete blood count (CBC). This will help you identify the root cause, and recommend appropriate dietary changes or specific supplements (such as iron pills, Vitamin B12, or Magnesium) in the correct dosages for your situation.
